About the artwork:
Colourful tiny critters that imagine the early stages of the Landlocked Creature’s life cycle. A huddled collection of twinkling tadpoles and cryptid chrysalises adorned with patterns designed by local residents through the Landlocked project.

Ludic Rooms, founders of Random String, are a socially engaged arts non-profit based in Coventry. We create post-digital artworks, experiences, and events that empower communities, offering creative opportunities to engage with tech through experimentation and play.
Artist, illustrator and creative workshop facilitator Marianne White has been part of the LR family for several years, leading and supporting creative workshops as well as splashing colour across everything she touches. She has worked as a maker and creative collaborator alongside many of Coventry’s most loved creative organisations including The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Vortex Creates and Talking Birds. Marianne was also the design coordinator for the Coventry Moves school flags and banner project for UK City of Culture 2021.
