About the artwork:

Inspired by Coventry’s anti-racist legacy, and the relationship between live music, rising art collectives and its historical landmarks, ‘Reflektions,’ is an abstract music audiovisual installation by BISHI.

BISHI works at the intersection of ancient musical forms with cutting edge visual technologies, inspired by musical legacies and the experiences of people within creative scenes.

Words from The Bhagavad Gita and Kahlil Gibran are recited by iconic Coventry born new wave singer, Hazel O’ Connor, the idea of which emerged out of a conversation between BISHI and O’Connor about the universal nature of creativity.

BISHI has composed an epic 9 minute piece featuring composer/violinist Anna Phoebe, film composer/artist Alexandra Hamilton-Ayres and Hazel O’Connor, co-produced by BISHI and Richard Norris. The visuals are a collaboration between BISHI and Output Arts, exploring Coventry’s historic landmarks, transforming them through 3D volumetric capture into neon pointillistic futuristic totems.

The piece is a juxtaposition between the past & present, to imagine a bold and visionary future.
